Job Description

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Director, Construction Technologies. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Neighborhood Revitalization, the Director of Construction Technologies is responsible for the continued monitoring, support and and guidance around all things construction-related that could potentially impact HFHI’s broad affiliate base. Items would include but not be limited to, building industry legislation and regulations, code updates and industry leading organizations such as NAHB. This position will be based at HFHI’s Administrative Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities:

*Responsible for promoting and awareness raising of base, best practices and pitfalls to avoid around new construction, rehabilitating and repairing homes.

*Lead continued development and updating of materials designed as guidance for HFH Affiliates on House Plans, Universal Design and Green and Sustainable Building Practices.

*Further development of guidance materials around HFHI’s repair products i.e. Home Preservation, Weatherization, Critical Home Repair and Rehabilitation of Homes.

*Oversee the continued development of HFHI’s A Brush with Kindness program as well as the successful completion of the DOE’s Weatherization Innovation Pilot Program

*Oversight in the development and implementation of establishing a “Safety Culture” within all HFH Affiliates

*Oversee the training and consulting offered to HFH Affiliates by way of HFHI’s Subject Matter Experts

*Serve as Publishing Group Owner for all Construction content placed on Habitat’s internal web sight

*Serve as the Subject Matter Expert in Construction for all internal HFHI departments
Job Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree in Construction Administration, Construction Management or a similar, related field. *6+ years experience with a large national or international construction company. *Combination of 10+ years experience in construction management and operations management. *Strong, working knowledge of building industry legislation, regulations and codes. *Experience overseeing development of policies and manuals around construction and safety best practices. *License in Construction Management a plus. *Strong management capabilities, excellent judgement, ability to work independently. *Strong oral & written communication skills. *Ability to lead teams and individuals to obtain results. *Working Knowledge of MS software products, internet & basic office equipment.
