Job Title: Manager of Annual Giving

Broad Stage

The Broad Stage is a state-of-the art performing arts center based in Santa Monica, dedicated to enriching the lives of all people on the Westside and beyond through music, theater, dance, and arts education programs. Four years young, The Broad Stage seeks to become a model for 21st century arts presentation and fundraising.

The Broad Stage is looking for a Manager of Annual Giving to expand the capacity of The Broad Stage through a larger and more engaged donor base. The Manager of Annual Giving will convert ticket buyers to supporters, and renew and upgrade individual donors to meet an annual giving goal. The ideal candidate will be flexible, dynamic and passionate about the arts.

Responsibilities

Renew and upgrade current donors through annual giving, end-of-year giving, and special appeals
Manage on-site membership development at performances
Build out a year-round giving program
Build relationships with donors and prospects via phone calls, ongoing written contact, and personal contact
Support and oversee systems for regular, meaningful acknowledgement and recognition of donors
Oversee donor benefit fulfillment
Document meetings and interactions with donors in Raisers Edge
Plan and coordinate donor and patron events
Attend performances and special events (mostly evening performances)
Reports to: Deputy Director of Development. Works closely with: Director of Marketing and Communications, Broad Stage front-of-house staff, and box office.

Qualifications and Experience

Ability to design, implement, and direct fundraising initiatives including cultivation, solicitation, and recognition strategies;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with donors and the public;
Strong motivation to succeed, self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Ability to balance multiple competing priorities, complex situations, and meet tight deadlines;
Flexible schedule- The position requires working evening and weekend performances and events;
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office as well as Adobe and Raiser’s Edge database;
Excellent writing skills essential;
Three to five years experience in membership, development, or sales within a performing arts organization, museum, or other non-profit setting.
Bachelor’s degree required.
